'lucky days' - jarl - 30-06-2005 ive heard a few whispers about these going around, about people, spotting a pattern, and since i had a mega mega lucky day yesterday (4/5 pal rappies)can anyone tell me if theres a pattern, or if i can do anything at all to encourage rare enemy appearnaces? just give me some suggestions (as long as their not totall made up!) i dot really mind if theyre wrong, i just want to know.... 'lucky days' - NetNomad - 30-06-2005 I really have no idea. Of course I wouldn't be surprised if Kefka locked this thread for "lying" (¬_¬), but personally I think something is controlling the rare drops, whether intentionally or unintentionally on ST's part. Beat-time theory, though technically disproven (so many will tell you), was more of an "unintentional" theory. One friend of mine believes (or used to, anyway; he doesn't play much anymore) in lucky days for IDs... one day is a greenill day, the next a skyly day, etc... this theory didn't seem to work when I tried it. However, there do seem to be lucky days where you can't stop tripping over 9-stars, and eventually you find a nice new item that day too. There also seem to be "mat and grinder days" where you just find a ton of these items. As for rappies, sometimes when I see a LOT of King Rappies, sometimes I see a Pal Rappy shortly before/after. What's behind it? Hard to say. Calendar date, beat time, some combination of the two... *shrug* 'lucky days' - Sonic Saturn - 30-06-2005 I blelieve in it, I completed seaside 3 times and I got over or as many as 4 Specail weapons, so definatly, I don't know what it counts on. I just think that sometimes your really lucky, then after a while you'll be really unlucky, then back to normal, and so on. anyway, thats what i think. 'lucky days' - Anti Hacker - 30-06-2005 Actually your not far out Jarl. There is a theory that beat time raises or lowers basic drop rates slightly according to time of day! In fact (this could be a fluke but is not disproven either) I found a stag cutlery from a barble in ultimate forest with my greenill early one morning. A freind offline said it was so cool he wanted one to, so I stayed at his overnight and at the same time in the morning i switched on again and somewhere in F2 I found another one! This theory could transfer over to rare enemies to! 'lucky days' - Sonic Saturn - 30-06-2005 it might Anti, I saw two Hildtoors really quickly in temple one morning, and i didn't quit in between them! 'lucky days' - jarl - 30-06-2005 look like ill be pipnig between 500 and 600 beats for pals then
'lucky days' - Sonic Saturn - 30-06-2005 why would you do that? oh, isn't that when you saw loads of them? 'lucky days' - jarl - 30-06-2005 4/5 to be precise so yes
'lucky days' - NetNomad - 30-06-2005 Late 400s to early 500s seem to be a prime piping time. Offline, that was the day I saw two 'torrs at once through piping. But that was before I got online and it re-synched the beats. Now I can't remember when 400-600 is... heh. Used to be for me, that my best piping time was around 6-7 PM EST. 'lucky days' - Anti Hacker - 30-06-2005 Lets make this the official beat times thread. |
