she wants to know if i hook the broadband thingy up with the phone jack or whatever it is the phone line cable thingy mabobider if they can still use the phone

You wouldnt use the broadband adapter if your gonna hook it up to the phone line. you'd use the 56k one. You could not use the phone while online with 56k unless you have a 2nd line

So basically if you use Dial-Up, you waited all that time for nothing and now have to order the modem adapter. If you use DSL, Cable, or T1, you use the Broadband. The GCN will require the wire that you use to connect to your computer unless you have a router. If not, then you'll have to unplug your PC and plug that connection into your GCN everytime you want to play online. Luckily for me, I have a router.
