Martial arts - ZinniA - 05-10-2003

I just wanted to ask if anyone here practices any martial arts. I am thinking of starting (if i find time) and wondered what everyone else does. I was thinking of Aikido or something like that - although i dont like the thought of being chucked about all the time.

Sad

I don't do it personally... but Jeet-Kune-Do is what Bruce Lee invented, a mix of Chinese Boxing, Kung-Fu and Wrestling :o! I always liked the sound of that Smile

did jeet-kune-do for a bit its mostly all attack. Id say its more fun than karate because theres no big overthetop blocking moves its just up close and quick.

I quite like the ones that you can swing things round the room like sticks but never actually fight anyone i am too scared!! Although i like rugby and thats scary sometimes!

I dont think i'll have time to fit it in with everything else but it would be good for fitness and stuff. My pilates instructor is going to do more classes so i think maybe i'll just do more advanced of that!
Smile

I take Wushu, a chinese martial art(actually been taking it sice I was 6) You gets to use weapons, learn forms but you don't have to hit anyone.Big Grin

What can I say, I'm a wimp!

My grandmother worked with Bruce Lee for a while, before he died.

i used to take Tae-Kwon-Do , its good, i only quit cause i didnt liek teh instructers, but yea it s pretty cool, they have those stick things(bamboo fighting sticks) and this other long one (id unno what its called)(my cousins broke that onme by playing fishing on teh couch and hanging off of it ) lol tae kwon do is good i must say lol teh belts go:
white belt, yellow stripe, yellow belt, green stripe, green belt, blue stripe, blue belt, red stripe, red belt, black stripe, black belt, white stripe, and then for the balck belt, each white stripe on teh black belt represents degrees,in how good you are, and how far you made it...i got to red belt, i quit dam instructers lol my dad got to 3rd degree black belt and then me and my brother and sister quit
