Is online worth it for Ep 1&2? - Tri_Quenta - 03-09-2005

I've been wanting to go online since I got the game, but I want to know- is it REALLY worth it? I need to somehow convice my partents that it's worth the money. Right now, I just need to know if you guys think it's worth the trouble.

And if it helps any, our internet connection is through Charter Pipeline, I think.

YES. If you like the offline game (particularly if you've made a decently-leveled character or two), you'll like the online game just as much. People will tell you to go to blueburst instead; IMO this is an ill-thought decision because you have to start over, and once you leave your characters die (whereas you can still use them in GC because you own the memory cards). The only thing you have to realize about GC is to keep away from most places in the US ships, particularly the block with the most people in it (currently Antares 8), and Vega. EU is the safest place, it's just a matter of finding people to play with - there are few, but once you gather a good amount of guild cards you shouldn't have much trouble finding someone to play with.

What levels are your characters?

Online for Episode 1 & 2 is great. As a matter of fact the lobby I was in last night was full of people, like when I first started playing. Maybe we could play together sometime. Unfortunately, due to bank problems I've had recently, my license was cut this morning, so I won't be able to get back online until this problem is fixed. :'(

To NetNomad-
Since I've only had the game for a short amount of time, my normal character is only a level 45 HUnewearl. I'm hoping to get something decent from online play Tongue

To mbbrim-
I hope you get that fixed soon- it must suck x__X;

Yeah, I was thinking of asking my bro to use his card to renew it, and I would just pay him the money. I have a level 48 RAmar that needs training. Hopefully I can get online and we could do some leveling sometime.

Sorry to type this on your thread Tri Quenta but as you have started one about going online I thought I would ask this.

What is the monthly fee to play PSO online and what equipment do you need. When I say equipment I mean things like the keyboard controller and stuff.

You can't get a keyboard for the GC, at least, I don't think that you can. You'll have to settle for the crappy software keyboard. You could get one for the DC, but there's no official GC one.

The monthly fee is £5.99 - well, it was when I last checked. You'll need a modem adaptor, or a broadband adaptor if you have broadband.

Ok, my question now... Is is worth going online with dial-up? I want to play online, but I'm not sure if it'll be easier with broadband - which I'll have to pay for. Is the lag time terrible with dial-up?

Plus, if you're online, you have a use for those Photon Drops!

All right. You can get a keyboard but it has to be brought in from japan. Or you can get a keyboard adapter which lets u hook up a normal keyboard to your gamecube. And dial-up does disconnect you alot. Dsl would be alot better.
