Question about rare monsters - ShadowNinja X7 - 04-09-2005

Whats the easiest way to split slimes fast? I'm going to pipe them soon with my RAmar. Also, will they kill each other if I'm not in the room?

- Slimes only kill each other when you are in the room, and they attack you and miss and hit one of the other Slimes instead.
- If any Slime dies while you pipe, you'll need to start over, so be careful.
- Splitting Method A: use Gibarta or Rabarta
- Splitting Method B: get a Charge weapon (preferable a Shot-type), deposit all your Meseta (so you have 0 on you), and unequip any mags or slot stuff that boosts ATP, but get some ---/Arms to boost ATA. When you attack the Slimes do a "Special-Special-Heavy" combo. The "Special" will garunteed miss because you have no Meseta for the Charge and the Heavy will hit and split the Slimes, but be careful not to kill them.

Maybe use an untekked gun? That or Rabarta.

Ok, I was trying for fun earlier today and I used Foie but that didn't work, but I'll try Rabarta.

Question about rare monsters - Forge - 06-09-2005

I use Foie to kill the Slimes with my Force without splitting them.

Tycho, that idea of the untekked weapon is a good idea. I'll have to try it.

I tend to use Rabarta, but it uses a lot of TP.

ok... complicated one... and difficult...
attack with a charge attack but before it happens hold R do the same for attack 2 and hit on 3...
Note: MUST BE ONE CHAIN... works REALLY well with double sabers cos you oly need to attack twice...(E.G: Charge attack, R!!!, normal attack)

The third attack always splits em...

Best 2 ways:
1) RAbarta
2) ???? Weapon. Special attack, special attack, normal attack.

Question about rare monsters - UK Jester - 07-09-2005

Interesting timing for me, this thread.

I'm currently hunting Red Slimes in Very Hard with my Skyly to get God/Body. Obviously I find a room with two Blue Slimes, split them into 8 Slimes, hope 1 is Red and then pipe to P2 and back again when they are all Blue.

Can you actually split a Blue Slime and have a rare Red Slime appear? I'm referring to the Gamecube 1 and 2 version.

Regards

UK Jester

Yes, splitting Blue Slimes gives the new Slime that appears a 1/512 chance to be a Red Slime and a 511/512 chance to be Blue (or 1/256 and 255/256 respectively for BB).

If any of the splits of a Blue Slime dies though, and you continue piping, if you get a Red Slime from a split of that Slime, it won't drop didly squat for ya'. (ExplanationSmile

SlimeA1 -------------------------------- SlimeB1
splits to SlimeA2, A3, and A4 ------------ splits to SlimeB2, B3 and B4

You pipe some...... then one time.... SlimeB3 dies (from another Slime or you, it doesn't matter), but you think nothing of it... you continue to pipe.

If you eventually get a Red Slime from B1-4, it won't give anything, if you get the Red Slime from A1-4, it has the regular chance of dropping something. Since it's hard to tell which one died though, it makes it useless to go on if one dies because it's like your only piping one working Slime and one broken Slime.

So you can split Slimes and find Red ones but if any of the Slimes have died before, you should start over because if you eventually find a Red one, there's a 50/50 chance it was in the group that one died in....

See? Maybe?....
