legacy style racing - Emrys - 17-09-2005 Well, if you belive me, Square did a racing game before Final Fantasy that, i believe, was the precursor to the basic physicis engine. You'd actually skid off the road if you took a turn too fast! Anyway, the game was called Rad Racer, but I can't seem to find a screen shot of it. legacy style racing - 8bit - 20-09-2005 The game Road Blasters showed how powerful the 1989 Atari Lynx handheld was, not far off the graphics of the NES screenshot below. ![]()
legacy style racing - Lee-yoshi - 20-09-2005 Wow 8bit, you really know your old style games! My favourite was this really lame amiga game that basically involved little race cars going around a circuit and you could just drive like a maniac and smash into them, just for fun. Don't even think of asking me for a name on that one though, really testing my memory now! :S legacy style racing - Robo Jay - 20-09-2005 lol, them pictures look like damn gd graphics, but they may just be cause i decided to get out my Atari 2600.... legacy style racing - 8bit - 22-09-2005 The car racing genre was probably popular early on with programers because it was easy to make the simple shape of a car go around a top down viewed track, lol. I liked the buggies in Rock N' Roll Racing for Genesis & SNES. Rock N' Roll Racing |
