Broadband or Dial-Up? If you are playing on broadband, you may need a PC depending on what type of Modem you've got. You need a LAN cable to plug into your Gamecube Broadband Adapter, and a lot of modems come needing USB connections to your PC, so you'd have to connect your modem to your PC and your Gamecube to your PC using a LAN cable, then setup Internet Connection Sharing so your PC shares the internet with your Gamecube. If you're playing on Xbox Live, you might be able to plug your USB modem into the Xbox and connect that way, but i doubt it, so again it'll be an ICS job. If you're playing on Dial-up, you simply plug it from the Modem adapter in your Gamecube to the hole in the wall! going online - Astari - 17-01-2006 is it really that simple to set up. ive played offline all this time cos i couldnt be bothered with the hassel. just need a Cube modem, and a lan cable then going online - demeiz - 17-01-2006 is there a charge for using the GC online? or is it just paying for the internet? going online - Phantom_RAcast - 17-01-2006 its $8.95 a month for the HL (Hunters Liscence) going online - demeiz - 17-01-2006 OUCH, goodbye wallet going online - Astari - 17-01-2006 thats not that expensive, i for 1 will be trying to get online withuin the next few week
going online - AmonJuhu - 22-02-2006 Hello. I am wondering how I am supposed to find out how I should find what to input in the Default router. This is my setup: GC>BBA>RJ-45 crosscables>LAN-port>laptop>Windows XP>wireless network I'm in IP address manual settings in the PSO for GC. I am renting access from my flat-owners router. They are not technical savvy and are unfortunely not able to help me. I am not sure what ISP I have. I believe it is canaldigital.no. The provider is norwegian. I am connected through the net by Intel PROset/Wireless. If there are still information I have forgotten to mention, please notify me. I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance. I have also tried to google "default router" which didn't help me much. This is my attempts at fixing the problem (my OS is in norwegian so I've to translate as best as possible): In the status of local connection under the support-folder it says: Address-type Not validated IP-address, IP-address& Subnet mask: 0.0.0.0 Standard gateway is blank. My firewall is the standard Windows. I have it on, but with expections. Maybe I should turn it off? Ok, now I'll uncheck the Local connection in the advanced folder. When I press properties again when I'm looking at status I have tried to go to the advanced and allowed sharing of internet connection and press accept nothing happens expect that winamp quits playing the current URL and skips to the second. When I try to repeat the process the allowe sharing of internet connection the previous checked boxes is still unchecked. I also gave the properties instructions in the proxy-server thread a go. It really didn't help much. (Maybe that guide was solely for the sake to post snapshots). I also hope I didn't confuse anyone with what I wrote under "My attemps at fixing the problem". I wrote those in the hope that I could give a better information. |
