I find this is almost impossible; define energy by what it is, as opposed to what it does. :>

That's energy in the chemistry/physics sense, although in reality they're all one and the same. For example, "Give water more energy and eventually it turns into a gas (steam)" is wrong, as that defines it by what it does.

O.o
Now i'm gonna have to think about this!
You made poo fly think!

Energy is the side effect of the speed of moving particles...... =\ That was a wee bit too easy, but perhaps you'd like to discuss the way in which Temporal Mechanics focus on time manipulation, or even how etheral beings Planear Shift into corporeal beings.....I <3 RP

Nah-ah. Think about it, energy is the speed. :>

Energy is the opposite of mass. (Or, maybe energy is mass, it depends on how you look at the way it changes... Energy <--> Light <--> Mass... So, are they all opposite or all the same?:S )

No energy IS the side effect of the speed of moving particles colliding with one another.....Don't try to mess wif me dawg....It won't work. Energy comes in many forms, but energy is energy, what I gave you is more or less an accurate definition. I'd think my pysics teacher would agree.

Define Energy - Double Edge - 02-02-2006

The ability to do work. Work is nearly synonymous to energy.

Define Energy - whiteninja - 02-02-2006

Yes, but that says what it does... not what it is. Serpent wants what it is...
