Today Nintendo of America have announced a new name for the Nintendo Revolution! It seems it won't be called the Revolution after all, but instead... it'll be known as the Nintendo Wii - Pronounced 'Wee', as in, i need a wee, or as Nintendo put it, 'we', as in a multiple amount of people using the console at the sametime (I.e. multiplayer gaming).<IMG alt="Who need's a wii?" hspace=0 src="/uploads/wii.jpg" align=baseline border=1>I can't really say anymore then that as personally i think gaming website <A href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=138673">Computer&VideoGames.com</A> has put it in the best words possible:"If it wasn't for the fact that we just recieved official confirmation from Nintendo itself - along with a brand new video demonstrating the console's final logo - we'd probably think the whole thing was a joke. So, while you sit there in dumbfounded belief - contemplating whether you'll still be desperate for a Wii in the corner of your room come November - why not check out the video and read the tiny bit of explanatory gumph that arrived alongside the press release."<IMG style="WIDTH: 150px; HEIGHT: 85px" alt="Go wiiiiiiiiiiiiii with loads of other people too!" hspace=2 src="http://www.ragol.co.uk/uploads/news_images/27_04_06_01.jpg" align=right vspace=8 border=1>What are they talking about? Oh crap, so this name brings out the child in me. Wanna come over and play with my Wii? For crying out loud nearly every single kid from 6up in the western side of the world will take the Wii out of this.

Why oh why could they not just have called it Play Nintendo or some such other decent name oh dear.

Still, it wont stop me buying this system but i will never use its full name.

Again still it could be a pr success as surely this will get people talking about it worldwide.

Best joke i have seen so far,
When you play Nintendo Wii, you will feel urine the game.

I love the fact that YTMND.com has been overloaded with 'Wii' sites, there's just so many jokes you can make about it XD

Obviously it's a huge boost in Nintendo's marketing! Everyone's talking about it now Tongue

They'll probabily change it back to Revolution at E3 and say "Haha, you really thought that was the real name - Fools!" and then sneak off-stage and chat amongst themselves about how their brilliant marketing idea went better then a heater would do to eskimo's in the antartic!

I'm just going to call it the W2 Tongue
