As of May 5th, the hugely successful Animal Crossing: Wild World has shipped more than three million copies - and that's only in Japan. At the same time, Nintendo have announced that they are to produce an anime film based on the title!
The currently untitled movie is expected to release in Japan this December with Japanese director Jouji Shimura on board for directing the project. The game's staff are liasing with the movie makers so that the film retains the game's themes.

That's exactly what i was thinking! I guess maybe it's all about like the starting periods of the game? I.e. working in the shop, seeing the different festivals, meeting neighbours, etc... although i wouldn't call it gripping stuff :S

wow, I so gotta see that! way to make a movie out of a really crazy and cool game! I mean, they thought the Halo movie would be cool...Tom Nook could easily kick Master Cheif's a$$...
but that's not the point! animal crossing is gonna be the best movie ever!

Its easy for a storyline he ends up in the town and makes freinds. Then stuff goes wrong like freinds getting mad and leaving. Then it just sorda goes like that, but in the end everyone returns and is happy. Yes I am predicting the ending already.

What a strange idea this is. Smells of cash-in 2bh, seeing as 3million units have been snapped up already. I'm gonna snap up the Wii version though if there will be d/loadable content and if you can share/swap/create new stuff through wifi. Will add more to the game methinks.
