Thats because it uses DivX codec - I'd suggest you download ffdshow and install it.

Okay, so only the HP bar shows as a black line. Personally I don't think the buttons and bars are all that obtrusive (unless it's on multiplayer offline GC).
Maybe show the HP numbers? It'd be good to be able to toggle show/hide the interface.
Just suggesting. I don't know anything about hacking/programming these things. :$

They are obtrusive if you're doing machinima. Taking the damage numbers out of things makes it so much easier to shoot.
