Mirinee's Music in MIDI
#1
A while ago, Mirinee posted "I Can Still See The Light", and the sheet is quite accurate, but it's messy, and I found it difficult to read. Therefore, I rewrote it as a MIDI (had to change 2 or 3 notes due to software limitations) so that you can print it off using Guitar Pro, NWC Composer, or similar software.

If you like, you can easily transpose it down a semitone to the proper A-Flat key.

Credit for sheet music goes to Mirinee, not me.

Credit for musical tidying goes to me ^_^.

Hi! Smile

I downloaded "MidiNotate Composer" program (which I don't really know how to use =P) and had a look at your midi.

Bar13: Please put in the ornament, and it's D in the bass, not C#
Bar14: 2nd last note, treble, it's D, not C#
Bar16: I didn't do the timing terribly well, so I used "rit" to cover it up. ^^;; Put in "rit"?
Bar22: The G natural is important.
Bar32: Missed a tied note.

I know I've missed out at least one spread chord, but your program missed out all of them. It also makes the triplets look unclear, and ornaments look clumsy when they are written out as played. Another minor thing that bothers me is the use of A flat instead of G#. Although they are enharmonic equivalents, the key is A minor, and G# is its leading note. And, although I didn't, please put a new speed marking on the two notes before the key change. Since you're neatening it up, going to try to make it perfect?

Someone (decswxaqz) actually had a shot of rewriting the first part on computer before. Probably used a different program: http://ragol.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=5925

Overall not a bad attempt, and you did all of it too. Big Grin Thanks for your time.

Yeah, sure... the ornaments are slack to put in. Sorry 'bout the C#-D mixups, I'll fix them when I get back from class.

Bar22 Gn is pretty important :S. I'll fix it later.

As for the flat-sharp mixups, that's a fault of many MIDI-SheetMusic programs, as is certain timings (usually triplets). I can assure you that I haven't used any flats where sharps would do.

Anyways, thanks, I'll touch it up later.

I finally got around to fixing it.

As well as the errors pointed out, I inserted some breaths, slurs, as well as ritenuto where I felt appropriate.

To preserve the sound and note structure of the piece, I have decided to upload it in the original Noteworthy Composer (*.nwc) format. Imported MIDI files do not properly interpret tempo changes, triplets, or accent notes, so if you use this format, you'll see the music exactly as it was written.

Credit goes to Mirinee for arranging the piece.
