It is fairly obvious that 1/3 of an enemy is impossible. Why, then, did ST ADD another 2/3 of the enemy? Wouldn't it have made sense to have just used whole numbers of enemies?
Like I said, ST evidently have a very poor grasp of mathematics as far as the rounding business is concerned (and possibly in other areas too since their computers probably do all their mathematics for them).

*offers peace to mimas* (before it hets out of hand)
i know we are saying though that if you have a drop of 1/21.3,
if you round it down there is a 0.3 enemy that you have not killed and its impossible to get a 0.3 enemy,
but if you round it up you get that 0.3 enemy, but as 1.0 so you get 1/22

I thought we already discussed drop-rate fractions in another topic about a month ago, and how I prefer percentages. I see now that there is another ulterior motive to my use of percentages: avoiding confusion based on partial enemies in drop-rate fractions.
Mathematically speaking I'm not wrong.
Realistically speaking, people who round the fractions up to get full enemies are either pedantic or pessimistic.
Is Kefka both, by any chance?

I'm not pessimistic, well not more than anyone else
I just find it more fair to be pessimistic in PSO because it gives less false hopes, thus less disappointment.
And ST never calculated fractions of monsters in their game program, lol, they just used a complex algorithm, that they use as a limited randomizer, the ones that came up with fractions, and therefore "fractions of monsters" are people like VulpesMundi, heyf00l, Sounomi and others.

Exactly, algorithm, what i was gonna say...

To be fair to you Kefka I was disregarding the fractions altogether as they really do seem to be causing an awful lot of friction between myself and a few board members. I'm not saying you're wrong to be pessimistic with PSO, I just think that there are more realistic ways to explain stuff.
To my knowledge you can't get fractions of fractions or decimal-fractions, so percentages seem to be the most accurate way to go.
