Completely wrong.
If you only have 1 point of EX, it will only stop 1 point of damage.
EXP decoy takes directly off your EX meter. If you have just reached Dice +1 on your meter (24 EX total) and your Love Rappy gets hit for 25 damage, it will die and take your entire hard-earned EX bonus with it.
Note EXP decoy does not work for Companion or Counter - if someone damages your Love Rappy with their defence card it dies.

Nobody seemed to pick up on the combo I posted above - Love Rappy and Together. Together gives Death Companion (attacker dies if you have 1 or 2 HP after the attack; Love Rappy is HP1) to the card it's played on, hence anything that hits a Love Rappy dies if you play it and have EX. Hard to play well, horrible to fight when it works.
One of the most hideous beatings I have ever taken was vs a team Love Rappy + Together + Charity + Fever deck - they went first, had the assists dealt to them perfectly at the start and got 1 Fever, 2 Charity and an Assistless down in the first turn. 4 Love Rappies in play over the next 2 turns, anytime we hit them Together was played and whatever we hit with died. After the first couple of times we realised the deck was stuffed with Together and their strategy was defensive killing; we tried to ignore the Rappies and head for the SC, but failed. Badly. :O
