Any of you guys ever bought a liteon cd-rom reader and writer? there was a report about having a disk explode in it, my dad didn't think it would happen to us, afterall, it was just one guy. Lets just say there are now 2 people and i'm missing half my vice city play cd-rom somehwere inside the drive itself (i'll post a pic when i can). I was playing happily and BANG, i see some dust come from the comp, stop playing open it up and all these pieces of metal fall out.

Who's sue? :p
Yes that can happen, especially with fast drives. In buying the best (maybe?) and fastest, you caused yourself a problem. It's not the drive really. If there is even a light crack in the CD, it will expand when spinning at high speeds.
About a year ago i had Sim City 3000, and i played it so much it suddenyl froze and wudnt do anything ever again, bcos after i took it out, it had actually got deep deep scratches around the rim of the hole in the middle, now i dunno how computers disk drives work, but i dont think its supposed 2 do that, unless its a wa of tellin me ive been playin it 2 much! But ive neva had a game explode, bloody hell, thats gotta b bad!!
Some of my CDs are like it. I really hate it when the prongs on the CD case come off. On my Soul Calibur CD, there are perfectly round sratches in the CD from where one of the prongs got caught. It's damn annoying. I've not been able to play Civ3 (probably the only game that could have stopped my playing PSO) for ages.
