The cell phones are artificial gates which connect to the Aegis network. Got any better plans? I think the cell phone and laptop worked pretty well. But then again, ignorance always forms from the people who watch the OVA's before the actual series. Maybe then you would understand. The theme of Gatekeepers 21 was mainly destruction, leading to the lack of gate usage as well. Watch the actual series.

Ouch, that sounded like an attack on me. I was merely saying what I saw was not that good. I believe then I saw the sequel. I also previously stated I hope the original was better, because 21 wasn't so hot. I have no way of obtaining the original nor do I wish to because I didn't like it all that much.

I was just reading the manga earlier today and I felt all sad and such, that they all died... ;_; What about Shun, though? He obviously didn't die, because Ayane seems to hold some sort of grudge against him. And who do you think that Shun knocked up to have Ayane? Ruriko maybe..

I'd probably say it was with Ruriko with the way the original series ended. Plus, Shun's sister is taking care of Ayane showing that both parents were dead. Maybe Ayane held the grudge against Shun for leaving her alone and stranded. Or for putting the world before his own daughter because even good people are needy for attention and acknowledgement. But Shun IS dead, his family had made a Shrine for him in their household and in Japan if someone has a family shrine then they are deceased. Even if he wasn't then where exactly would he be when the place he grew up in is being destroyed and his daughter is alone and endangered?
