FF7: Ruby and Emerald Weapon
#1
I thought that i would randomly post a walkthrough for these hard guys...
even though they are very easy if you follow my guid exactly!

Emerald

First make sure your characters can obtain health of above (amount of materia x 1111), due to Aire Tam Storm (which does the amount of damage equal to amount of materia x 1111). Mime is necessary, and preferably more than one, however if that is impossible, 1 will do.

First, equip the following materia onto your strongest party member(an = means it must be linked): Final Attack=Phoenix (not necessary but may save your life); Knights of the Round=HP Absorb; mime; as highly powered HP+ materia you can get. Hold no more than 8 materia (ad preferebly on materia slots which add advanced growth to materia). Weapons do not count for much in the battle against Emerald weapon, so any weapon will do. Also, Final Attack=Phoenix only needs to be equipped on 1 party member. A necessity for emerad weapon is the Underwater materia, which should be equipped on your weakest party member.
In this battle use KOTR with the character that has it equipped, then just keep using mime. Because KOTR is linked with HP Absorb then it will heal the character that used it to full health. Then just keep using mime. If one of your party members dies the do not worry- if you revive him you will have to use KOTR again to keep up the mime tactic.
Just keep this up. Eventually 1 or 2 of your characters will be dead, and if you are extremely lucky you will still have enough MP to cast Phoenix. If you feel you are nearing the end of the battle (Emerald has around 1.7 million HP) use a Turbo Ether, or an Elixir, or any item that restores most if ot all your MP, the let your last character die. When this happens he will use Phoenix, thus reviving all other party members and himself. Then just lay into him with KOTR (and if that is only lvl 1 then the strongest attacks you have- these tend not to be summons or magics.) If you don't want to risk dying against him then do not allow your last character to die. Instead, just keep using mime untill Emerald is dead.

Ruby

Have roughly the same materia as last time on your STRONGEST PARTY MEMBER ONLY! Have him equipped with KOTR=HP Absorb, Final Attack=Phoenix, mime and as many HP+ as you need. Also equip him/her with any materia you want to level up. MAKE SURE HE/SHE HAS A WEAPON/ARMLET THAT HAS MATERIA GROWTH!!!
The bad thing about this encounter is that Ruby wants to fight one on one, so kill your other weaker party members prior the battle. Make sure the surviving member has the ribbon equipped. If you don't have one, then use a vaccine at the start of the battle. If you can't do either of these then do not bother fighting.
Now just lay into him with KOTR mimed and eventually he will die. There is no helping the other two party members, without risking your strongest being dragged into sand. Ruby always makes sure that two members are either dead or dragged into sand.

Once you have beaten these two talk to the traveller in Kalm(is it? Please confirm.) to recieve a Gold Chocobo (which has very low stats compared to a Bred Gold Chocobo), Master Magic (which allows the use of all magics in the game), Master Summon (which allows unlimited use of all summons in the game) and Master Command (Which allows use of most commands in the game, excluding: Slash All, Flash, 2x Cut, 4x Cut, Steal, W-Summon, W-Magic, W-Item). These should make you one hell lot more powerful!

I did it different...your way has many flaws....

One major one is...the water materia is not a nessecity..I did it without it..but my way was much more effective..

And on Ruby weapon..it is easier if you revive the fallen member, and give him sometime like enemy skill and use bigwall or whatever, because if your use KOTR...he counter with ultima...and use as many defence spells possible..he may eventually drag one, but if you keep up the attacking, his tentacle things will not come out...

afterwards, you go to the calm, and upstairs

To get the master materias you don't have to beat ruby/emerald weapon. All you have to do is max out every materia of a single type (support, summon, magic, etc.) Then you go to Red XIII's canyon (forget the name) and talk to the floating giant materia (which you had to get to do this). This is also how you get the final Bahamut.

Right, but this way is much easier....

And actually...the Emerald weapon is the one you have to beat for the master materia..

the ruby gives the chocobo...which is pointless...you have to have a gold chocobo to get the KOTR to beat him....

Don't argue with my on Final Fantasy 7. I have played through this game so many times that my disk wore out.

You have to get the master materia from maxing out all materia of that certain type. There is no other way to get them.

From beating Ruby and Emerald you get the jewels and then you turn that in along with another item for the Gold Chocobo. Believe I know, I've done both of these. The only way to get the master materia is by maxing out all of one type of materia.

Your way also works...why don't you try to beat them and talk to the guy before trying to argue?

I can careless how much you play....you are ignorant IF you do not know that you can get them more than one way..ASK ANYONE that plays this game a lot
