It depends on the weapon you use wether or not it's easy to doge being hit after it. But if you're about to be hit again, then move away, if you've stunned the enemies for a second, then take another go at it.
With all guns, you shouldn't be hit because you ought to have atleast some distance between you.
With Swords and Partisans, it's pretty easy to get smacked after your combo. The same goes for Slicers, but only if you're up close.
Double-ended Sabers and Daggers are pretty easy to dodge attacks with because they move you a big distance so you kind of attack at an angle to the enemy and you can get by.
With Sabers, if you go head on with a three part combo, you'll get smacked. Depending on the angle you attack though and the number of attacks in your combo, you can dodge it.
The easiest way to not get hit after a combo is to kill the enemy during the combo though... duh.
