Maybe I should rephrase this.
The idea of polls is quite nice, because, of course, it does allow for an easy and anonymous way of statistic data gathering.
My main point of criticism is that I personally think of questions which can be appropriately answered using merely one out of up to ten possible options are incredibly boring. In my opinion, questions and discussions that call for suggestions or arguments are by far more interesting.
To add to this, polls often seem to get abused in the PSO-related forums. There is no use in checking up on the opinions of the rest of the community if they're not based on facts you were not yet aware of. Ignore them, and get your own opinion instead.
(If the majority would always decide 'correctly' and 'justly', democracy would have actually worked.)

The polls on the official BB boards to determine the most popular people were always hilarious, especially when it got made a rule that you had to POST your choices because the voting system is so ludicrously open to abuse by people registering alt accounts XD
