I called a close friend of mine in PA yesterday when I got out of work - she was stuck in traffic blocked by 2 feet of snow at that point, had been out there for 2 hours so far. The trip she was taking back home usually takes an hour at most. Apparently the trans dept didn't bring the plows out 'til it was done snowing... she finally got home at half past midnight. That's like, 10 hours straight on the road, pretty much sitting in a car. How horrible! (And she loves the snow!)

Something like that could easily change an opinion, though. It hit most of the NE coast unexpectedly, even flights were incredibly delayed. Some Jet Blue passengers needed to wait 10 hours on the runway before takeoff even, here in New York City.

One day I hope it'll snow like 4 feet here in NYC. That would be grand.

You and I would both be snowed in! LOL
Well, the Blizzard of 96 was probably the closest to a freak snowstorm we've had...That was just insane. Roads were closed, you couldn't even see cars parked by the sidewalks, and barely anyone was out. I think we had some cross country skiiers out too, but hell...I was all of 7-8 back then.
