I believe it is on the disc and has to be unlocked through online play if they ever wanted to bring it into the game, just like the Purple Ring which you can't get offline to my knowledge.

Yup it is on the disk. They always test the final product before releasing it. Like in episode three, you see the delsaber in the intro and in the pipe where stuff is getting changed to cards... yet they removed the card's data from the game. ^_^ the only traces that are their is the info about said creature and a description. Which thank god is not enough to recreate the card via the means of AR.

I guess since they didn't erase the red ring entirely they might have had plans to use it in the future in an online quest. But what the drop percents are offline is 0%

I never said I was going to look for one, I believe the drop rate was set to 0% online, but in order to set it to 0% offline they would have had to put that on the disc before the game came out, and that just a ridicolous thing to do

Not really.

They probably just wanted to release the item at a later date via a quest. As quests allow ST to alter drop rates, they can easily activate the drop at any time by releasing a new quest.
