THAT ain't gonna fit on my surge suppressor...
#1
In order to avoid avid Xbox gamers from getting HIMoKed by their Xbox (Hurt Injure Maimed or Killed) Microsoft had voluntarily recalled 16.3 million Xbox power cords.

Old cord: nice slim end and fits perfectly on all surge suppressors.

New cord: WTF?! A goddamn breaker box?!? A HUGE box at the end of the cord with a little indicator light letting you know something is wrong with a reset switch.

I've got one of those nifty all in one surge suppressors with cable line protection, and this thing will well... juts out over the cable line connectors. If I plug it in at the other end of the surge suppressor... I lose 2 plugs because this damn box is covering them.

Way to go Microsoft!

Look on the bottom of your xbox and if it was before 23rd of october 2003 then your at risk i believe there is info on the xbox website.

It wasnt 16.3 million, most xbox were sold after the faulty ones were taken out of production. The actual risk of death, fire, shocks, game destruction is 1 in 10,000 :S Better safe than sorry though, mine was made just after the date but they thought mine mite be so may just order the "power brick" to see it Tongue

Hmm, then the news report I read was wrong then. I never had a problem with leaving my Xbox on overnight to try and get those Xbox Live updates. ^^
