Ps3
#11
that was actually one of the really big flaws of ps2. I think the ps1 actually took less time to load its own games.

If sony doesnt correct this, there will be complaints and very little consoles sold.

No, even if the load times take forever I don't think it will effect Sony's sales any but I'm sure that there will be complaints. I'd say we won't have to worry though. Sony will more than likely fix the load times and we'll all be happy. Smile Smile Smile

Bleh, I would say Final Fantasy something for sure, but thats not going to happen, the guy that created them went to Xbox...

Rather they may make Final Fantasy's...but they will probably suck..

load times are absloutely terrible. the thing is all game designers think that all we care about is graphics so give us great graphics on super-powerful consoles but because the graphics are so good even on those consoles it takes forever to load.... revolution or x box 260 will win for sure. ps3 im sure will have terrible loading times, i mean look at the psp. x box 360 can play ps3 games as well, apparently though this may not be true. itll be x box 360>revolution >>>>>>>ps3

Some think Sony needs to reconsider Cell, the semiconductor described as a supercomputer-on-a-chip, which Sony is developing with IBM and Toshiba. Cell, which is costing Sony Y200bn, will power the PlayStation3 and possibly high-definition TVs and other advanced products. Ken Kutaragi, in charge of Cell, believes the chip will make the PS3 the Ferrari of games consoles, enabling it to do so many advanced things that people will be willing to pay a premium for it. Others worry that Cell will make the PS3 too expensive to compete with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and will not repay Sony's investment.

"It is clear games consoles alone are not enough to justify that level of investment in the Cell chip," saysMr Ono. For its use in TVs, he asks:"Is there really that much content that will require Cell?" Mr Watanabe maintains: "They have to quit Cell. It has so many advanced features that they don't know how to use it."

Sony won't drop the cell instead I hear there going to hold the system back another year so it might not be released untill late 2006 or early 2007, but I hope that it's just a rumor.
