Legato2471 and Lee Xao Vue are both completely right. some people need to stop complaining about how hackers ruined PSO. they wouldn't have if sega had faught against them. just either accept the fact that they are there and go on with your life or stand up to them and get them to stop hacking {that's very impossible but who cares, it's much better to accept the fact that there are hackers out there} we also need to stop posting things like this, because hackers DO NOT suck.

You seem very ignorant to the fact that hackers hack not because "sega fought them", but because they have taken the easy was through PSO and hacked, using glitches or AR, etc. to their advantage. They use it to get what they want in the game, not to rebel. :p
Hackers have ruined PSO, and there is no escaping that fact. Ever wonder why there is no Flow Gene? Ever wonder why there is no Red Ring?
That is because hackers hacked the freakin hell out of the PGF, the gene. And due to that fact, sega decided to ban the Gene, therefore also leading to the immposibility to get the Red Ring. For you need the gene to get the Ring.
Hackers have also ruined PSO in the ways that on GC, DC, XboX, and the PC version, they found ways to hack the hell out of PLAYERS and screw up their data, sometimes even perminatnly. Due to that fact that hackers would FSOD, BSOD, or do something that would curropt your data in some way, people have quit PSO, or at least spent countless hours to obtain items, or other things on it, only to find that these hackers would ferg with their data, and delete their hard earned work.

I even knew of someone who had some how gotten the BLACK RING. And was FSOD'd/BSOD'd shortly after obtaining it.

Is that enough to show that hackers have caused enough hell? Is that enough to show that because of all the illegits, the legits can't get the Dark Flow/Red Ring? Enough to show that the legits HAVE suffered from the ilegits?

Dont even try to give a good name to the hackers. Irrelivent to what you say, there is no way to actully give them a good name. And dealing with it just sometimes isn't an option. >_>


This isn't supposed to be an insult. Nor is it directed to one single person; its to everyone who has said something about this. It is to show that we're not just biching and moaning for the hell of it.

ok i'm really sorry everybody. you are all right. hackers have ruined many people's lives, taken many good features out of the game, and gotten through life the easy way by cheating their way through the game, and at the same time, making PSO online seem worse than the underworld for legits. i do wish that they'd stop hacking. they have turned fun upside down for us all and are big meanie poos for doing so. Todd, no one could have said it better than you just did. i have noooooooooooooooooo intention of EVER trying to defend/love/give a good name to any hacker out there. both me and my brother. two legits that barely know anyone online. have been the victim of many REALLY bad hackers. i have been fsoded too many times to count. my brother once got fsoded during a trade and lost every unnequipped item he owned. he was once blamed for being a hacker, and at the same time fsoded and not at all trusted by his friends. i am in no way ignorant to all of the things that hackers are doing to us, nor to the fact of why they did it. i specificly said "they wouldn't have if sega had faught against them", by which i meant they wouldn't be able to hack if sega had better protection on thi game.

In regards to the parts I put in bold.

2. If everyone's wishes came true, you wouldn't be posting here anymore.
3. To everything else in that section. You missed the point entirely. You have to be more open minded. Pissing and moaning about something isn't going to make it better it's just going to make you feel worse and worse about it. So quit trying to start a "legit revolution" because most the people here aren't even on the Game Cube anymore. Not that you could have done anything anyways, even if the Cube still was popular. Besides, because of hackers, once Sega shuts down the servers they make you pay for, certain people have set up FREE servers that have higher game security which doesn't allow FSOD to occur. I've been on the servers, they're very nice, and beat the crap out of Sega's. You can set games to be legit or allow hacked items.

I first got into hacking when I realized I was just too lazy to work for my weapons and an AR user gave me some cool items to help me enjoy the game and play it the way I wanted to. Just because something is meant to be a certain way doesn't mean it's going to. Games aren't meant to be hacked they just are. Hackers hack games for many reasons. Some to make the game easier, some to understand the inner workings of the game itself and others simply do it as a hobby.

Those items were never available to legit players in the first place. Hackers merely made it so they could be obtained. If Sega had better security, those items still wouldn't be released regardless of what hackers did or not.

Legits tend to chat and stuff in games, some people would rather talk in lobbies with up to 12 other people. Sega isn't taking anything away from the legits other then the promise of "game security" to protect their "valued customors".

Meh, there is only one thing I agree with you on for the entire post. And that is that the imense amount of threads about this is pointless and rediculous. They now seem to belong if the void if anything. Oh yea, and the part that it s a game. The rest is bullshit.

XP 'Nuff said. If you were high leveld, and hunted it, it was fairly simple, but not "easy". But then again, almost all of the drops for GOOD items are hard to get. Getting an item as good as a Dark _______ DISEARVES a tough drop. Hence the fact that some of the dark items were CONSIDERED the best of its kind in the game. Getting it was simple enough. (But again not easy) Just use a freakin red weapon on Olga Flow and hope you nail the drop.

If you hack on games that are offline only, for example a GC game that you dont have online for, fine; but not if you DO have online, or BB. As long as you don't interfear with others, as in trading them hacked items or hacking THEM, then thats fine. Keep the hacking to yourself.

Basically, if you use cheats, Gameshark, hackings, what ever in solo, 1 player, or offline games, fine. Personally, in games like the Spyro ones, I would use cheat codes to change his colors or whatever. Thats fine. But in online games, like PSO, its not. Not only does it offect others, but it also lowers the value of items in your mind subconciously, and consiously, but it also does the same to others (duping). As well as making the game get old fast in your own mind.

Keep your hacks to yourself. Nobody wants hacked shit.

1) Flow Gene Getting: The nailing of the Flow Gene drop was for if it WASN'T banned. It was banned because hackers hacked and duped the hell out it. Being that it was an extremly good item, its rarity dropped to the bear minimum, everyone had one, and the work ST put into making the game challenging went straight down the drain. So they banned it. THEN it was inpossible. They wouldn't bann it for no reason. Thats just rediculous.

2) Newbies Decision on Hacks: Like I said, hacking is fine if you keep it to yourself. As long as you dont interfear with other when it comes to hacking, or effect other peoples characters, then its not. But also having a level 1304 mag could cause errors with the server and effect others. And thats when it crosses the line yet again.

4) Hacking takes the point and fun out of the game, or at least shortens the time it isn't old. Leveing fast to get to ult takes the experience out along with half of the game.

It makes perfect sense. You were implying that since the PGF was hacked to hell it was banned, but like nomad says if that were true alot of other stuff would have also been banned.
