Yes Static-X is metal! I am a metal head! non of that N-stink crap for me, but I find it hard to like a band when I cant understand what thier singing.
If the sound good and have thoughtful lyrics then I'll love it. you can't forget some of the older matal bands though. Godsmack, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, I love them all!

i am the metal compendium ^.^ depends rly on what type of metal you want, seems like ur into screaming type such as avenged sevenfold and Atreyu, personally i dont favour these types but the guitar can be quite good, so i make exceptions- for these type bands try out- lamb of god, Mastadon, shadows fall, mudvayne(ugh i hate them)and Trivium.

My personal favorite type of metal aside from thrash(like metallica) is power metal, so if you want try bands like Rhapsody, Dragonforce, and Angra...be a little open minded these bands lyrics can sound a bit Fruity at first, but give it a little time and youll like it( the guitar kicks ass) or the pioneers of Powermetal (no fruity lyrics here) Iron Maiden (my personal Favorite band) and Helloween(yea!)

METAL IT UP!

Okay guys, let me clarify some things for you, just so you know.

My dad is a big metal fan, thus I am, along with Hard Rock, some Punk, and a bare minimum of Emo....

Atreyu is a decent band, not great, but decent. They have some good guitar, not much else.

Mudvayne is NOT Metal, they are Hard Rock.

Slipknot is NOT Metal, they too are Hard Rock.

Avenge Sevenfold is NOT Metal, they are Punk.

Trivium IS Metal, but they are too much like Atreyu....


Now Aryus, KNOWS his Metal, because he gave you the names of some of the best bands out there. If you want great Metal go with:

Mastadon, Lamb of God, Slayer, Sceptulra, Super Joint Ritual, As I Lay Dying, and Kill Switch Engage.
If you want great hard rock all of God Smack's stuff is good.
If you want good punk Green Day is good, except American Idiot, other than the direct attack at Americans in that CD, it blows in comparison to Dookie and Nimrod, get those.

Avenged Sevenfold is a metalcore band with some punk stuff. Theres quite some metal stuff you know!
