And the correct saying would be "damned if you do" because you have also your own honour to think of Nomercy! You'll just have to reject Kits (sorry kits XP) and prepare for the wrath. Tis the only thing that should now be done!

You have to fight for the ones you love, just a general point there. Well; unless it would just increase the possibility of danger to them. Like when me and my girlfriend got attacked by four people in the street; I just tried to make sure she stayed out the way. And absorbed all the punches to the head that I could so that she would at least be safe <_<;

In that situation fighting back could have knocked me out and made her a target so... Fighting isn't always the best way to protect whom you love when in danger. Sometimes you just need a healthy helping of brute endurance.

I don't think those thugs were out to do any serious harm though, jsut to make an example of me. Meh. I think I lost my point while I was posting. Damnit! Always happens!

Y'know what? I'm not even angry with them. I'm just filled with pitty. I'm not such an agressive guy I guess. I wish I could talk to them or get them some councelling.

When you come from a deprived family, and you have nothing but boredom behind you, your state of mind is altered. If you have nothing, what are you left with? That's right, pride. The people with the least are the most proud of all - but should you give them a look of disrespect you take away the last thing they have left (which arguably exists only in their minds and isn't worth protecting).

So they retaliate.

It's kind of sad.

I'm not condoning their actions, however. But for them, university and a well payed jobs arent even institutions they can be part of. So they look to the local gangs. They see them defend each other and look out for the neighborhood as big brothers. And every little brother wants to be a big brother, just once. Just to give something back.

They don't respect my society or people because we give them nothing. No chances, no respect. No help, most of the time.

All they can do is have an inflated sense of self pride and watch out for each other.

I think compassion is the best combatant of all...
