Well you can make your introduction alone in general chat or make it in any other subforum if integrated with a topic/subject.
Something like "i'm new here and i need some help on this particular subject of PSO"

In general chat you can just make something like "i'm new, nice meeting you all"

Then we have a leaving / returning topic, that one should be used in case your not new anymore but need to say something like leaving/returning.

This topic we post pictures and there is another one where we post the comments to the pictures.
