A Lil help on JP Phrases..

Sol Wrote:Cool! Cool

what i dont get though is how they understand japanese words written using the english alphabet..?

the japanese writen in the english alphabet is called 'romanji'. to me, its like the phonetic spelling of the word, for instance:

'koban wa' is said like it is spelled. the same is true for 'matte', which is said 'mahtay'

the really difficult ideograms (words made from pictures) are kanji. even i cant understand them very well. the symbols that decswxaqz showed you are either hiragana or katakana. hiragana is used for the 'spelling of japanese words, while katakana is used for words from other languages like english.

yeah zeffie is right, im still trying to study everything but its nearly impossible. Im sticking to Romanji right now, that way i can play with JP players on PSO and FF11 (Jp people really seem to respect me more because i can speak to them slightly lol).
PSO is a game of my past but those I came in contact with are still a part of me.

well... I guess never say 'kutabare' which is japanese for f**k y*u. I print out japanese phrases off the net like 'kore wa watashi no mono des' (this is mine)

lol i never play PSO with JP players in any other mode than cmode so yeah dont need that one phrase lol. And in FF11 its not like you can pick what you get if youre in a party (well you can but people hate you if you do) so i dont need it there either.

yes "what are you saying" and "you are a fool" are quite helpful phrases lol. "Nani o shimasu ka?" is another good or (i might have this wrong) "nani o ten daiou" is "what the hell are you doing" right? im not sure lol.
