Comparison Between the different PSO versions...
#1
Comparison between Episode I & II and Version2 (DC & PC)

I decided to make this topic because i found some ppl that never played PSO before ep. I&II and don't know how the game was before this version. I'm makin' this topic based on my and miy brothers' observations on the DC/PC version 2 of the game, Ok?

So these are some changes that i've noticed:

1. On dc v2 when u die, u drop ur money and equiped weapon.
2. some weps like DB's saber have chenged its shape since v2. On v2 the DB's saber was a common saber that glows blue and green. (I think the same changes may have occured with another weapons, but i don't know yet because i don't have found them...)
3. All the characters on v2 can cast all techniques untill lvl 15 and only forces can cast them untill level 30.
4. There are two items that are not on Ep. I&II because of their utilities: State/Maintenance and Trap/Search. The first one provides u protection against freezing, slow, paralysis and poisoning. The second one lets u see all the traps that are set on the fields without the need to use trap vision!
5. There is no "Short" conditon on v2
6. Only hunters can use partisan type weapons on v2.
7. It was too hard to find a rare monster or Item on v2.(I only saw a Nar lily once when i was playng that game)
8. There are no Red item boxes.

And other things that i'll post later....

1. tech disks cost 2-3 times as much meseta on v1-v2
2. loading screens are different
3. there is no offline multimode on the v1-v2
4. Newmans don't have TP regeneration on v1-v2
....that's all I can think of right now

I purchased both DC versions after I got PSO for GC and I was irritated when I couldn't buy techs or regenerate my TP.

Heres one real important one we should all know:
1. v1 was free online play with the DC (North America) but if the key was used once you were SOL.
2. v1 and v2 were easily cheated with gameshark. People could kill you in town, cast spells in town, steal your items, "NOL" you (turning your character into a lv1 NOL, that reporter girl you take down in the early missions), FSOD, BSOD, warp you into walls, below the floor or above the celine... grind weapons past thier max to +255, generate their own weapons from code, dupe (obviously) cast ryuker on people while they were down in the dungons (lol that one was always fun)... umm, cheating was really bad back then as you can see...
3. New characters, 1 new character for each class, new costumes for each class.
4. For those of us that play online, I don't remember there being the chairs in the lobbys...

Um, thats all I can think of right now

Edit: Right, new lobby animations now
Ignorance is a disease... and you are infected.

*sigh* and you say im arrogant and a know it all. Yet more hours you wasted on something no one cares about. If you make lists like this, you kill the thread, other people like to try and remember for themselves, not have someone tell them everything...
PSO is a game of my past but those I came in contact with are still a part of me.

Strength comes not from the size of your muscles, but the depth of your heart, and the cause you're defending with it.

to be fair to Omar, i thought it was a really good list, i dunno what both your problems arw with each other, but for god sakes, no one else wants to see this little bitching match between you two, so either private message one n other and sort it out or chill.

(sorry to go off topic)

Thanks. I aren't bitching about anyone in this thread. That would be silly Tongue

As I said at the start of my post however, it is taken from a list we compiled at PSOW, so I don't deserve any praise for it.

I thought the thread was just basically a guide for new people to compare the different versions, so newbies like me can gain more information? Seems to me like Omar has just taken a list that seems quite good and provided people with the information they wanted. Surely thats not know it all but merely helpful to everyone, I know it is to me because I would have no idea.
