I have a linksys router too pork star, although mine seems top notch. When you say your having trouble getting a good connection do you mean with your gamecube or pc?

Hmm it could be a few things.. Try installing the latest drivers off the net and see if all your firewalls are setup correct. Also are you using a standard ethernet or crossover cable to connect your BBModem -> Router -> PC?

hmm right now im at school so i can't check the drivers but hmm either way how would i do that... just go into hardware profiles and update drivers... and i have it set up like this...
Cable modem ->Router->Ethernet
and then when i get the bba ima hook it up in the second slot of the router

The second slot? There should be a designated slot for the Modem cable and its usually one of the end ones... check the manual when you get home to make sure youve got it in the right one.

ah yea that sounds right. Try the driver thing. You can get the drivers for your router model here:
http://www.linksys.com/
Can you remember if the cable you're using is standard ethernet or ethernet 'crossover'? The only other thing i can think of is if you have a firewall that is blocking some communications or if your router has been setup to block certain ports / transmission types.

Yup make sure your using the right type of cable:
Most modems use a standard (straight-through) ethernet cable. However, some modems require a crossover Ethernet cable. See your modem documentation for more information.
btw are you on ntl? Junon has been having problems staying online latley too, he gave em a ring and supposedly they're updating their server setup..
