Have developers ever considered the fact that releasing so many great games, such as, will actually improve the Gamecubes retail performance? Its something which has always confused me. They take pity on it, but cant be arsed to help.

A lot of what these developers do dont make sence, i mean not just with ToS but look at metal gear solid: Twin snakes remake on cube, awesome game, 1st time ive experienced the metal gear story and loved it. But no smell of porting sons of liberty to cube and i really doubt we'll ever see snake eater.
So why bring out the 1st one?? :S
besides, Sony have the FF series, it it too much to ask to have the Tales series for cube... even if its as well as and not instead of... any other platform.
Its also annoying to see Viewtiful joe appear on PS2 and knowing resident Evil 4 will appear on it too. But i hear this is because CAPCOM are in financial difficulty, so i guess thats excusable.

You know what I hope? I hope the Tales series gets clobbered by Final Fantasy, then we can say: "Look who's come crawling back!"
Other RPGs are given a very hard time on PS2, since Final Fantasy eats other rpgs alive a lotta of the time. If Namco really wanted no competition, all they would have to do is realease the tales series on cube, and it would sell like hot cakes.
Exactly my point Lee Yoshi, other companies have not seen the reason why PS2 sells the best. It is becuase 3rd party developers lavish so many exclusive titles on it, and you can look at a gamecube exclusive and say:
"If it's really good, chances are it will turn up on PS2 anyway."
I really did think the Tales series was going to be our RPG series, but like so many other companies before it, Namco gives us some milk, and gives PS2 the cow.

Well, it can't be helped I guess. I don't think any third party developer is ready to back up the GC 100%. If you look at it from a financial standpoint then you'd see that the risk is too large. You must realize that Sony pays a lot more money to companies to put games on their system. While Nintendo's game sales might be nice, I think most developers look at the ratio of how much they make from each title and base their decision on that fact. I would personally love to see the GC get at least one exclusive RPG franchise but, as Kashima said, this is the only prime reason that I have a PS2 as a back-up system for the many RPG's that pass up the GC.
I personally think Nintendo should once again pool their talents to make a great, NEW turn-based RPG franchise, like the did with Earthbound on the SNES. I know Fire Emblem is on the way, but I'm talking about making Nintendo's own original "Final Fantasy-esque" game. Maybe if other companies see that Nintendo finally has a strong RPG foundation then they would be more encouraged to release their own RPG titles to capitalize on the newly earned fan-base. Plus, I'd love to see Nintendo's creativity and ingenuity implemented in a unique RPG experience the like of which no one's ever seen.

I dunno if Nintendo has the time to make anymore series, if you consider all the millions of others they've got going!
What they should do, is what you've said Sony do Kisanzi, and pay for many great RPGs to get a release on their home console, and build further upon existing relationships ^_^ Not just RPGs either, but if the console has more games being released in general, its going to do wonders for sales and finances, however Nintendo seem to be stuck in a world where they reckon the only excellent games are their own. Ill never get over the fact they let Rare go to Microsoft with no say whatsoever ;_;

I hope they buff up Golden Sun's battle system, and actually give it some personality, and do away with the bland, predictable characters. Golden Sun is a nice francise, but....it never did anything that has not been done before.

I agree 100%. Rather than trying to single-handedly support and develop for their system, Nintendo should suspend a few projects and use the money to try and strengthen their developer relationships in an attempt to widen their number of titles. Not just by buying out exclusives, but just by trying to get popular games that appear on other systems as well (i.e. Tales of Eternia, etc.)

Theres many titles that arent exclusive titles but sell incredibly well because theyre available on one sole system - If Nintendo were to do their research properly, they could build up and buy into some ace franchises out there for the next system, dare i say its to late for the Gamecube at this stage... -_-
