Soft reset is a real thing. Its just that no one knows how to do it.
You can get easter eggs on the game (easter online) that you hatch and a random rare falls out (certin rares that you cannot get anywere else). It is totally random (not like teking were the item is almost always the same). But you can't hatch an egg and go "I dont like the item I just got so I'll glue the egg back together and then maybe another item will fall out." Thats why when you soft reset, it goes to the point were you didn't yet hatch the egg and the item is still random. Another rare might come out. Good luck finding an egg this year, Sega isn't celebrating easter this time. Who knows, maybe they've considered celebrating Passover insted.

I really hope they celebrate other holidays though.
