they ban books all the time, mostly from schools only though, I think. They banned a book that suggested homosexuality from elementary schools because they didn't think kids should be exposed to that (but thats not graphic violence; however I am sure there is a case for violence 
). While I agree with it in some regards, tv basically defeats the purpose of doing that since sex, drugs, violence etc are all over and it have come time that people take control and responsibility for their actions instead of blaming these things.
