I know that with EP1&2 on the opening screen, if you go to "Options" there's a sound test thing, and it has all the songs that you've heard in-game. (I'm pretty sure that's how they unlock.) There's probably somthing like that in EP3 also. (I don't know because I don't own it, EP1&2 is better. 
)
The only use for those would be if you have a MP3 player and want to hear it while you're not home.
