Deadly Zero Wrote:if your talking about Iori Yagami then i would prefer fire and earth but i dont know if your talking to me or zero.
Okay, I was talking about you DZ, and Zero.
Asha'man are traditionally stronger in those two.........so that's good.
And Zero, I can do Fire and Spirit.
I think I should elaborate a bit on the Five Powers....For those who will be lost without it.
Imagine a Yin-Yang(without the opposing white and black dots in the opposings color) , the bottom half, the stylized tear drop, that's white represents saidar (Sai-DAR) the female half of the True Source(Called the One Power, or Power, when channeling). Women who channel (Channeling is what they call using the One Power) can see each other channeling, with a yellowish aura around them, the brighter the aura the stronger the woman in the Power, and it is often described as an intense feeling of pleasure, rapture, boardering on pain (Which kinda' sounds like a females orgasm to me.... :/ ) . Aes Sedai often compare saidar to a large flowing river, you must submit and float with it, if you do not want to be swept away because of fighting it. Women are generally stronger in Water and Air, so much so that these became known as the female powers. Now this is not always so, but generally it is, Egwene Al'Vere(The current Amyrlin Seat[leader of the White Tower and the Aes Sedai] happens to be strongest in Fire and Earth . And men are almost always stronger in the Power,(I'll get into that later) but women can link into circles of 13 women without the aid of a singular man that can channel. This doesn't have a 'stacking effect' instead each woman's power is added together, and then divided together amongst all the women in the linking circle(This is how it's described at least.) , with one women controlling the link, so basically you're powerless if you're not controlling the link. The woman doing so, has total say over what the power being drawn from the True Source, through you, is used for. You can of course break the link, but it is described as being very painful. Another thing women cannot do is absorb fire. This is never explained, but men can. When a woman absorbs fire the very least that will happen is their arm or some part of their body will blister horribly. One of the female characters in the books absorbed Fire from a candle into her arm, and it was horribly blistered for weeks. This is all you'll really need to know about saidar since my story is going to be about the Asha'man.
Now for the men. The black stylized fang on the Yin-Yang(remember this is absent the white dot) represents saidin (sai-DEEN) the male half of the True Source. Men who channel cannot see each other channeling, unlike women, but they can feel it the same way women do when someone embraces the Source. Instead they can feel it(like women) , but they can sense it, and is described as a fire, or vigor in the others man's eyes. Men cannot submit like in saidar instead they have to fight saidin, because in both cases, saidar and saidin, are described as making the woman or man channeling feel more alive. For women it's pleasure, for men it's fighting for life. Back on subject, saidin is described of being in an ocean of torrent ice and fire. I always imagine IcyHot or something like that, that burns but is also cold, then I multiply it by thousands, and I have what I imagine to be controlling saidin. So when channeling the male half, you have to fight for life or be threatened with death, or being burned out(Losing the ability to channel forever, although an Aes Sedai named Nynaeve Al'Mera was able to finally heal stilling [What Aes Sedai call being burned out, but for a severe punishment, really it is the same thing, but until recently no one talked about either because it's more or less a taboo...] in first Logain, a man, then in the former Amyrlin Seat, and her Keeper of the Chronicles.) Something I forgot to mention earlier that is vitally different between saidar and saidin... Both men and women have potential (Their starting strength in the power, and their pinnacle are obviously going to be different) , you are weaker when you start channeling, but you get stronger as you go along. Hitting a women's potential may take many years, or few, it varies, for everyone it does: But no matter what, all women increase in power in a straight line. They grow either slow or fast but always constantly, never quitting or slowing, much like the nature of controlling saidar itself. Men on the other hand are totally the opposite, they may have a high or low potential from their starting strength, but: They always jump in power erractically. It may be that you will only be middling strength in Power, or you'll be one of the strongest born, but a man's power jumps erractically, it slows, continues on a line for a while, then will jump dramatically. The last thing you need to know is, men can link with women, but they cannot link with themselves. This is speculated to be a balance in the True Source for men being stronger than women in the Power. But a man can be included in a linking circle. The maxium is 13 women 1 man, then 13 more, and then 2 more men, then 13 more then 3 more men. All the way up to a circle of 72.
No matter how strong a man is, they cannot stand against women in a full circle of 13.
There are things I will think up later but these are the basics, It isn't really that hard to understand...
Edit: Like I said earlier, men nor women are greater in strength when it comes to Spirit. It is most times divided equally between the two...
Edit2:Most people are strong in a limited number of the Powers. Some people may be above average in all areas, but not spectacular in any, While some are strong in three of the five Powers, this is exceedingly rare...Two is about the average for most.
