I took and archery class in Boy Scouts a while back, we didn't hunt anything though, just target practice. I wasn't too great.... but I passed.... I'm much better with Link in LoZ: Ocarina of Time. 
Edit: My grandpa has a longbow hanging on his wall (not an antique or anything), and he let me try it out once, it was as tall as me before it was strung. (but I was shorter then)
I also know now who on these forums NOT to piss off.
