Did you find your own SJS ? because hacked SJS cannot unseal. And yeah, you can bank it, drop it, etc. But remember to always save (bank it and exit the bank with the Sword in it), before dropping it or lending it to a friend, if you play online.

About ST updating the game data server-side, not they can't. All they can update are the online quests, and release of items.
