Basically if an Item has a yellow photon base it is the best basic weapon (unless you count S-Ranks with their red writing). Any Item that has a rarity of 9-star or above is a rare, no matter if its a special weapon or not. Because it is a Calibur, it is the top of the sword series, and Because it is Blizzard, it is top of the Ice effect series of weapons. These two 'rare' factors build it up t a 9-star. Rayguns and Gladius' cannot become 9 stars, because they are still to basic even with powerful effects. Percentages do not affect rarity value. Force weapons do not have a 'Golden' series, and so cannot produce semi-rares.
