#8/9 are just funny colors (they don't have a colored rectangle like the other ones do on the menu). They will give a mag that picks from a group of 18 colors, 4 of which are only from random color costumes (#8/9). #1-7 will randomly give 1 of 2 shades of the rectangle shown on the menu.
Part of guide I'm working on adding, but can't get good pictures for:
-----Mag Colors-----
This part here is so that you can pick a color mag that you like and see the way it looks when it becomes a special mag. That way, you can tell if you like how itâs going to look. Iâve ditched a few mags at level 100 for the sole reason that I didnât like the way it looked. I donât want that to happen to you, so I went through the bother of raising 18 colors of 25/24/25/25 mags and evolving them into each special mag (resetting after each time) and taking pictures of each. (This part hasn't happened yet... digital cameras SUCK!)
The color of a starting mag is decided by the color of the costume you choose. For costumes #1-7 on rows 1 and 2 (and 3 for androids), you will get a shade of that color, there are 2 shades of each color and you get it randomly. For costumes 8 and 9, rows 1 and 2, you will get a random color that picks out of 18 colors. There are 4 colors that can only be obtained by random color costumes. Those colors are annoying and hard to get, so getting one of them and a special mag out of it gives you even better bragging rights!
When finding mags in-game: You can find mags anywhere from the De Rol Le boss boxes up until the end of Mines in boxes (not from Vol Opt). There have also been reports of finding them in the EP2 Mountain area, but I have not confirmed that. The color of a mag you find in game varies depending on which version of PSO you have (PSO+ or regular). In PSO, you find gray or grayish colored mags, so to get a nice colored one, you need to make a dummy character and steal it. In PSO+ the mags are the color of player 1âs costume. If player 1 has costume 8 or 9, then you will find all random sorts of mags. Switching your costume in the âDressing Roomâ (have 10,000 Meseta when you start your game up) will change the mags that you find. Itâs still easier just to make dummy characters though.
The color that a mag has at level 5 is the color that it will haveâ¦. FOREVER!
Colors for Costumes:
....1 â red/orange
....2 â dark blue/midnight blue
....3 â gold/rotten-banana yellow
....4 â neon green/turquoise
....5 â purple/maroon
....6 â black/darkish gray
....7 â white/yellowish white
....8/9 â poop brown/dark green/sky blue/pink/any of the above
