Kefka Wrote:It's not my opinion, it's a fact. What you just called "fact" was the notion that HUmar is the worst class in the game. I'd be careful of confusing facts and opinions...
Kefka Wrote:Netty, you missed my point, the difference in ATP between HUmar and HUnewearl is not enough to see a significant difference in damage dealt (under the same Shifta). The same ATA? I dunno about that, considering at Lv200 there'd be a base difference of 27 ATA (at which point the HUnewearl would have to have weapons with at least 25% more hit than the HUmar's to have relatively equal ATA). "Same damage" is also not taking into account material usage; since HUmar can use 100 more materials than HUnewearl, it's easier to max out his ATP than it is the HUnewearls. Again, I think a lot of HUmars you've probably seen were in fact noobs, they didn't plan their materials, and so an experienced player with a HUnewearl planned better than them and therefore is doing more damage.
-So in a team, HUnewearl deals same damage, as the same ATA, but better DFP, better EVP, better MST, and better spells.
Kefka Wrote:And don't say "if there's a FO, then her techs have no use", I have a Lv 200 RAmarl and a Lv 184 HUnewearl, and I can assure you Lv 20 techs are VERY useful even if there's already a FO, of course, I mean in tough places/quests, not in Forest, Cave or Temple >_>I never said her techs have no use, but then again, that varies too. How many mind mats and mind levelups on a mag would you use to get these techs to a decent damage level? That would make it harder to max out other stats (although perhaps not for the RAmarl since she can use 100 more mats than the HUnewearl).
And not everyone plays PW4 and cmode all day, either. If you were playing PW4 I'd tend to agree; a team of a FOnewearl, two HUcasts/HUcaseals and probably a ranger of some kind with an FS or SQ would be the most likely to succeed (then again, take weapons into account too... if you had a HUmar dealing more damage than a HUcast because he had better weaponry, would you still pick the HUcast?).
Kefka Wrote:-In a team without a FO he is a deadweight, no traps, no good techs. No, it's my point. All your points are based around how the character looks on paper, but it's a really one-dimensional viewpoint.
-In solo, he sucks.
And do not use the "it all depends on the player's skill, not the character" argument, that's totally not my point.
Kefka Wrote:Yeah, I've seen good HUmars, about 0.1% of the HUmar population.Again, this may have some merit if the HUmar has about the same weaponry and material usage... but you don't always know that. Even in PW4 it can't be as one-dimensional as "is he a HUmar or is he a HUcast?"
But even good players cannot make that shitty char even remotely good in the hardest quests of PSO.
A HUmar in Phantasmal World #4 is a big no from me, I'm not joining a team with a HUmar in that quest.
I'd also like to know what you consider to be a good HUmar, now that you say there is such a thing.
