Christianity is a wide concept and is largely open to interpretation (the Bible is so vague you can use it to justify pretty much anything <_<). I understand where you are coming from EkwEE, but don't let your experiences of the religion cloud your judgement of it. I know many people who bad-mouthed the religion (note: the religion teachs or endorses no harm, PEOPLE do) myself and a few of them have come around to thinking that perhaps some Christians aren't bad at all. By all means blame the extremists, but don't blame the religion and tar us with the same brush.
Bottom line, we're not all foamy-mouthed, hateful , extremist morons. We don't all believe that you have to be a Christian to go to Heaven. Bear in mind that religion in Britain is treated way differently to in America. We live in a more secular society here and religion is more... personal I suppose. I prefer it that way, since I hate the religious maniacs with a passion.
Edit: Woops. Sorry DE, didn't realize you'd posted your message when I posted this :$
