To be honest you shouldnt have to worry about the ip address, just follow the internet connection sharing wizzard in windows and it'll do it all for you (It will be 192.168.0.1 in case you were wondering).
Once you've run the wizzard on your computer choose the xbox live option from your xbox boot screen / dashboard, if you get the 'Account Management, New Account, Network Setup' options then you know it's worked.
