Yoshi, those figures are for games sold. Pay attention to what you read. The reason DS has more games sold is because most of them are pixelated and don't involve either touch screen nor microphone. PSP games tend to be more involved, thus needing more programming time.
SR-Faulkie, you have no originality. If you were going to express your opinion through photoshop (or paint, as it looks like that is what you used), at least do it in an original way. Heck it doesn't even have to be original, just not the same thing as someone else in the immediate target audience did, only flip-flopped. I would apluad your originality, but your work is neither impressive or original. You should be ashamed
I don't really care anymore anyways. This whole thread has been nothing but people flaming back and forth their opinions. I have my opinions, you people have your own. I'm not even going to suggest you rethink it: not my time or money being wasted, it's your own. However, that doesn't mean I'm not going to throw my last little thing in here.
The PSP does play games like that of PS2, but its not the first time something like this has happened. GBA was not but a handheld SNES, wasn't it? It was, but pople still liked it, and it even had some indepth games like Kingdom Hearts :CoM (Say that's a kid's game a let a kid play it. He won't know an attack card from a summon), or my favorite GBA game, Golden Sun. The only difference here aside from the maker is the difference between releases. Yes, I think the PSP, as of this moment, has the same games as PS2. However, if it were to be released around 3-4 years later, no one would be whining, unless you're a nintendo fanboy. Why? PS2 games wouldn't be made anymore. Everything would be MMORPGs, online shooters, online sports, online fighting, online hack'n'slash, or the over-used plumber in various games, none of which platformers. Because of the lack of undoubtedly awesome PS2 games, people would buy PSP. However, releasing it now would be the same thing, since PS3 is coming out in America spring of next year. That means PS2 games will stop being made around a month or two before PS3's release. Where will they go? PSP. That means anyone who inparticularly likes PS2 games will need a PSP to continue playing PS2-esque games. Your logic of saying they are only handheld ps2's means you are ignorant of real logic. Isn't a handheld better than a console if it has the same games and power? Sure, battery life becomes an issue, but now you can play on the go as well in the living room. The only way PSP could have been better is if Sony converted all PS2 games to PSP format. That means PSU. But that's only a dream. Back to reality. If you really like PSO, get a PSP, if not before DS, then after, because Sonic Team is leaning more towards Sony nowadays, and its been confirmed already that the next title is NOT on either GC, GBA, or DS.
Since this is my last post, posting in response to this means absolutely nothing, as I am not checking this thread anymore. It'll be like insulting a brick.
Last thing before I leave:
PSO IS NOT GOING TO BE ON DS, GAMECUBE, GAMEBOY ADVANCED, OR REVOLUTION IN THE FUTURE. THE PHANTASY STAR SERIES HAS BEEN MOVED TO SONY CONSOLES AND PC. THEY ARE -NOT- GOING BACK. ANY PSO FANBOY SHOULD ABANDON NINTENDO NOW.
