I'd agree with you that amps help a lot... especially on a FOmarl who has only support tech boosts (IIRC). I have a FOnewm who wears a Red Merge and has a Sorcerer's Cane as his top weapon... so logically, his best tech is Gifoie. I switch to Summit Moon to do simple techs, a Fire Scepter for Rafoie, and a Caduceus for Grants (his other weapons are a Striker of Chao, and a Talis and Double Saber for TP stealing). IMO, tech boosts > MST boosts. Big Grin
