I had my Rolf and Soren the MVP's of that mission, both are necessities and with the basic wind tome Soren will usually double those birds, basically if you can kill the two birds that come from the left in two turns you'll be fine. Just make sure to check their ranges every turn and get anyone who can't take a hit out of the way. Mias good for this mission as she's so fast most things can't double her, and if you have a steel sword she'll do some decent damage, then have Nephenee bring up the rear. Keep Mist and Rhys (If you still use him.) In the extreme right side of the boat, kill those birds then move them to the left as you'll have some more birds coming from the right at turns three or four.
