Whoa, I missed the second page of replies and that last one was kind of out of place. My bad.
Kefka, you're absolutely right in saying that a FO should secure their support first. That's always my first priority, even as my FOnewm... S/D first, then Jellen most everything, Zalure what is required (I'm not gonna waste TP Zaluring a bunch of Bartles for lv150+ characters
). Then I will usually use one or two attacks, either gifoie or gizonde depending on the enemies around me (his top weapon is a Sorcerer's Cane so I stick with the gi techs when possible). Then, Rabarta... I consider Rabarta a form of support, particularly on enemies with mid-to-high EVP because this will help the HUs connect more often with their hits (even berserk, yep). I cast Rabarta a few times, then pick out the frozen enemies (usually there is one that nobody is picking on) and attempt to steal TP from it. I cast resta when required.
In harder games, yes... then I go to Resta Merge and fluids, and my pattern changes to S/D/J/Z, then Rabarta, and maybe TP steal if I have the time. In both cases, I never require asking for fluid money. But either way, I want do something other than constantly heal. I'll bet it'll take you awhile to find such a "good FO" on most days... IOW, one who would commit to following you around while you berserk so the enemies die "faster." As for Aneka's comment, well... no, I'd imagine it wouldn't be "boring" to constantly resta you. But that wouldn't make it fun either.
Thing is, Kefka, you've just basically told us the highest-priority scenario once again; the game played to perfection. Some of us don't choose to play the game "perfect;" some of us just enjoy experimenting and having fun with it. FOs should still keep their support techs cast when required... and yes, healing IS the FO's job... but following around selfish people who try to mow down enemies as if it were their last day alive is NOT the FO's job.
