When you have a FO on your team, regardless of the FO is a FOmar or FOnewm, it's annoying when I see them damage enemies and heal less. I expect Resta Merge on all FOs in all situations (while I might make exceptions for FOnls and FOmls.) There are many situations while playing with my HUcast who uses Freeze / Confuse Traps excessivly, and I get killed so often, then laugh in horror because my HUcast is a better support than a FOmar. Experiment at someone's risk in wasting their two or three weeks trying to get to L200, all because you prefer Gifoie > Resta.Re-read my post. I specifically said I resta when necessary. I only put it out of my pattern because it's not part of a set pattern; it needs to be done at any given time, and yes, a FO needs to be aware of that.
However, consider this: if it's such a problem in Blue Burst to die, then how about this: don't put yourself at risk! Even with a "good FO," you WILL still die occasionally because there's no way for you to signal the FO when you will and will not be berserking (unless the FO were to assume you were berserking every second and just mash the resta button, which is just the worst). If you're good enough with berserk, you can figure out (a) when to use it and when not to, and (b) what enemies you shouldn't use it on. Berserk was made to be the riskiest special in the game... it just so happens that a number of people have been perfecting this "screw the FO over in the interests of my power" strategy. It makes berserk almost as bad as charge... perhaps even worse, in the case of such a FO that you will make follow you around (and this isn't even counting the assumption that the FO won't get hit and die in the process from all the standing still and mashing resta).
Here's an idea. Instead of looking for the quickest, cheapest, and least-risk ways to do something, why not just play the game without these handicaps?? Are we such cowards?
