*twitches at horrible overuse of charge*
Oh man... look, maybe I could stomach that if it were the calibur you were using, but come on... a HU with his only weapon being a mechgun? Even Kefka has said that's noobish. The role of a HU in any multiplayer game is not only to do damage, but to get in there and take a couple hits so the RAs and FOs won't. If you omit the entire second responsibility from your game plan, you're really not fulfilling your role as a hunter.
Offline I suppose this is forgivable for a HUcast since you don't have anyone to heal you, although a nice chain sawd (or gush calibur with hit, even?) would fix that right up. But it peeves me when so many HUs just overuse the mechguns. For instance, I was in a game last night with my HUcaseal. Her mechguns are a set of Gush Vulcans with 25 hit. Purposely weak like that. I was in a game of all HUs, but this didn't matter since it was only VHard spaceship. I found it incredibly hard to get any hits in without using my slicer for the first half of the game... at which point I turned around and saw all three of them standing in a line with their mechguns, looking to me like the picture of noobishness. "I feel like I'm the only HU here" I said. Miraculously, they decided to try using their blades more... two of them pulled out their other weapons, a yamato and a partisan of lightning, and the third one left shortly after. I made a point of not using my mechs either for the rest of the level. It was actually one of the most relaxing games I've had in quite a while.
I've said it before, that I hate nonrare weapons with a passion... because, for me, there's no fun in pulling out a weapon that the guy next to you isn't just as likely to pull out. I know people who use nonrare weapons a lot, and to each his own (even the charge users, ugh), but when I see a bunch of HUcasts with no blade weapons and a charge vulc, I leave. >_< That's the coward's way to play multiplayer PSO.
