RR (I played 1, Revolution, 3, 4, a bit of 5 and tried 6 for a few races) have never been anywhere near realistic in their gameplays, I regard RR games closer to the F-Zero series than to the MSR/PGR series in terms of gameplay.
That's why I like RR and ain't too fond of PGR
Unless you're really good at DoA games and play online a lot, you will it find it extremely boring very quickly. While RR6 is very much enjoyable even offline, and has tons of stuff to do.
