oh, good thing you ran into those! they aren't really meant for anything after completing the game in ep 1, but what they do is you have to touch all three of them before getting to the ruins, or you won't be able to pass through the door (which you never saw because you got all the pillars before the mines boss!) in conclusion, just look for them every difficulty level.
